Rake & Ruin Eau de Parfum is inspired by the works of satirist William Hogarth, this fragrance summons his characters from a gin soaked 18th century London.
This debauched Eau de Parfum incorporates the botanical ingredients of gin; dark woods, civet, musks and amber bringing to life 'all manner of Vice and Wickedness.’

Top Notes: Angelica, Liquorice, Juniper, Coriander, Szechuan Pepper, Pink Pepper, Orange, Lemon
Opens with a sharp, gin-like freshness, spiced and effervescent.
Heart Notes: Cypress, Pine Needles, Castoreum, Labdanum, Cade Oil, Costus, Violet Orris
Bowing to a heart of smoky woods, animalic tones and powdered florals.
Base Notes: Dark Woods, Ambrarome, Sandalwood, Musk
Dark woods, musk and animalic. Ambrarome complete the seductive yet slightly sinister finish.

THE BEAUFORT STORY
Founded in 2013 by musician Leo Crabtree, BeauFort London was informed by early experiences at sea and a very British obsession with the elements. Initially, the brand was a vehicle for only one product: a handmade moustache wax in a billet aluminium case – a response to poorly executed male grooming products. In the space where craft and curiosity collided, BeauFort London discovered its true calling: fragrance as narrative. Fragrance as history. Fragrance as force.
The name itself — BeauFort — comes from the Beaufort Scale of wind force, devised by Naval Officer Sir Francis Beaufort in 1805. A framework for measuring what cannot quite be controlled. A fitting metaphor for a house that has never sought consensus.
PER FUMUM
The word perfume derives from the Latin per fumum
— through smoke.
After delving into the history of scent-making, Leo resolved that BeauFort’s fragrances would be built literally on this etymology: harnessing the many olfactory facets of smoke — gunpowder, tar, incense, charred wood, salt-scorched rope — to create singular works that seek to evoke memories both real and apparitional.
These are not fragrances designed to please. They are designed to provoke; to cast light on forgotten moments, to carry fragments of history on the wind.
